Wed, Feb 8, 2012 - 21.75 mi [Cycling] Details
21.75 mi in 01:04:00 hours at 20.39 mi/h on Trek ZX 2100 Carbon. [Cycling] An unexpected break in the weather & I went for a lap of the track that loves TDS. A smorgasbord of hardbodies kept the heart rate high. Even the non hardbodies were still firm bodies. Plenty of serious cyclists out too but none more serious than Napalm who was smashing it up when I passed him before Whitebridge. Passed a couple of serious lookers on the way down to Redhead. One took my wheel & I dragged him all the way to Jewells, where I let him go at the crossing. He took off & he probably thought he was smashing me. Unfortunately for him, the race did not end at Belmont as I was soon on his wheel on the way back. He couldn't hold 30 at the beginning of the R2W climb & I was able to attack him at will & showed him the true meaning of power. Needless to say, I didn't see him again. Saw the hardbody bitch from racing who was true to form & ignored my wave. A cracking paced ride & a PR for Reg's Circuit.

Thu, Jan 26, 2012 - 62.14 mi [Cycling] Details
62.14 mi in 03:21:00 hours at 18.55 mi/h on Trek ZX 2100 Carbon. [Cycling] Met up with Napalm, Evimov, Toasted, Guru, Eurobunter & a couple of EB's mates for an Aussie Day ride. The weather was overcast but at least the rain had stopped but it was still very humid. Headed up the Pac Highway were we soon caught the wheels of some tri-hards who lead us to Raymond TearArse. Just over the bridge & Evimov was pulled up with the days 1st puncture. Napalm took over the replacement of tube & we were soon back on the road. As soon as we reached the rolling hills, the attacks started with Evimov showing great spirit, if not great form. Toasted was attacking on the downhills. No coffee to be found in Maitland & Eurobunter was the next flat just past Berro. Pedals that were unable to cope with my massive power output saw me out of contention & nearly on the road for the Telstra Hill climb. I regained my composure & took on Napalm for the Phoenix Sprint which was thought of at the time to just won by Napalm but a careful study of satellite imagery of the finish line reveals that I won this sprint quite comfortably. Into Rollador for coffee where Ellviner made an appearance to show off his new car. Finished the ride with Evimov doing laps of the NJC to bring up the ton. A great ride in good company where I showed myself to be teams new master of the Phoenix Sprint.

30.39 mi in 01:38:00 hours at 18.60 mi/h on Trek ZX 2100 Carbon. [Cycling] A windy day kept my hunt for Strava records subdued. Plenty of dickheads out in their cars, pulling out in front of me, dickheads on bikes not respecting me & dickheads on foot being brainless dickheads. Listened to a Boiler-room download with it's mix of hard-core trance & techno. A good, solid hit-out.

Thu, Jan 12, 2012 - 21.87 mi [Cycling] Details
21.87 mi in 01:03:00 hours at 20.83 mi/h on Trek ZX 2100 Carbon. [Cycling] Cool & breezy with a stiff Sou'Easter, it was a great day to go & attack some segments on the Love track. Took my time heading South as it was a headwind & Strava doesn't make allowances for them although I went most of the was in the drops. Heading back North, I practiced my race craft by smashing everyone headed my way. Approaching the R2W climb, I moved my biddon & tool caddy to my jersey pockets to make my bike as light as possible. I went hard, staring at the Garmin & never letting my speed drop below 30km/h. I kicked all the way to the top & thought I had done alright so it was straight home with no second lap to check out the data on Strava. I did find time to abuse a f@#kwit skateboarder. He was taking up the whole track with his swerving & couldn't hear my calls of passing as he was wearing an iPod. I wish side arms were legal & light enough to carry on R2W record attempts. Strava confirmed my 10th position placing on the most coveted KOM segment in Newcastle. Listened to Ministry of Sound's Sessions II, mixed by Mark Dynamix.

Wed, Jan 11, 2012 - 21.31 mi [Cycling] Details
21.31 mi in 01:02:00 hours at 20.63 mi/h on Trek ZX 2100 Carbon. [Cycling] A hot 31deg & a howling Sou'wester didn't make for the most pleasant conditions so it was just a basic lap of the Love.Strong headwind on the Southbound leg left me feeling a bit flat for the Northbound. Listened to System of a Down's Toxicity.
