19.60 mi in 01:30:00 hours at 13.07 mi/h on Specialized Epic 29er COMP. [Cycling] Morning Erwin: Setup the Epic loaner very stiff in the rear end (220 psi)... much better. BB still too low, but better. I was riding faster and starting to like it until I tried to sprint up a hill... big mistake... Right at the peak of the power stroke for my right leg, standing, it threw the chain, launching me over the bars... that hurt, and I have a newfound lack of respect for this Epic 29er... I miss my Pivot... |

[Cycling] Morning Erwin: The Pivot is in the shop for a self-destructing front fork (again), so I took out an Epic Comp 29er on loan... 1st impression is mixed. The bottom bracket is WAY too low, but I needed a little more PSI in th rear shock. Front wheel is too flexy. This bike likes to accelerate, turns well, but overall the Pivot is superior. Oh, I don't like the Brain... to weird. |
