10.33 mi in 00:46:00 hours at 13.47 mi/h on Giant Rincon. [Cycling] Nice ride home from the hospital. Enjoyed cutting through Blackwell. Very scenic. Right on the verge of being a cold ride...which was enjoyable.
At the hospital, it's just an adjustment to such a big campus than the SSB. Bonus: having an actual shower & lockeroom to use. There's just a lot of walking once you get to the hospital. Not bad thing...but just something consider when schlepping all the gear/change of clothes. Funny thing was that when I looked at how I locked up my bike...it really wasn't locked to the rack, per se based on how the rack loops were situated & how the bike was positioned. Doh! It was still basically secured though from the look of it. |

10.33 mi in 00:46:00 hours at 13.47 mi/h on Giant Rincon. [Cycling] Cycled to the hospital. Vaguely remembered the route there, but it came to me as I rode. Forgot how nice of a route that is. Still a bit dice crossing Roosevelt road...but caught a nice break today, so it was easy.
Forgot my cycle computer at home, so used the Android app CardioTrainer. It was pretty cool as it tracked my route via gps, announced speed/pace/paus-resume status as I rode. It captured min/max & average speed, yards climbed, calories burned & distance. Pretty nice alternative to the CatEye comp I have on the tank. |

12.58 mi in 00:54:00 hours at 13.98 mi/h on Specialized Tarmac Expert. [Cycling] Headwind. Unreal. Exhausted. Single digit speed. Up Bilter bridge. Tank was not built for speed against the wind.
Just. Kept. Spinning. |

12.74 mi in 00:52:00 hours at 14.70 mi/h on Giant Rincon. [Cycling] Prepped & rode the tank into work this morning. Had to deal with a flat tire just as I was pumping up the back tire before the ride. Stem failure, unfortunately, but I had a couple of extra spare tubes, so not a huge deal.
Warmer morning (63'ish) and a really nice ride on the Prairie Path. So much easier to ride in a leisurely manner than riding on the road. Probably about 1.5 miles shorter of a route too. Made surprisingly good time this morning.
I'm prepped for the rain that's supposed to come later today for the ride home...we'll see... |

14.03 mi in 00:57:09 hours at 14.73 mi/h on Specialized Tarmac Expert. [Cycling] Monster headwind. Exhausting but good for fitness. Rode it as a commute, not a race, so it was manageable. Very warm, but just glad it wasn't raining like the forecast predicted.
Still better than driving to & from work. Ugly, ugly base miles...but base miles nevertheless. Woot! |
