16.32 mi in 01:31:00 hours at 10.76 mi/h on Specialized Tarmac Pro. [Cycling] One of the craziest rides of my life. Didn't go anywhere near like I had planned, but it was still very interesting. I want to go back and try again this semester if I can. 9:00-11:30 a.m. |

23.40 mi in 01:26:00 hours at 16.33 mi/h on Specialized Tarmac Pro. [Cycling] Took off on A-431 again towards La Algaba. Temperature was around 60 and it was dead calm, so it was really nice. I turned on A-8080 towards Torre de la Reina but turned around before I got to town. It was a cool road. I saw some cyclists on some really nice bikes, including two girls on carbon road bikes that I went around on my way back. 4:45-6:30 p.m. |

14.95 mi in 01:06:00 hours at 13.59 mi/h on Specialized Tarmac Pro. [Cycling] Little ride to stretch the legs. Went east of town on Calle de Luis Montoto and didn't like it very much. Kind of got lost, but that was point. The pavement wasn't very good and traffic was busy. 4:10-5:35 p.m. |

Sun, Jan 29, 2012 - 59.26 mi [Cycling] |

59.26 mi in 04:06:00 hours at 14.45 mi/h on Specialized Tarmac Pro. [Cycling] First group ride in Spain. I met the group at Bike Life at 8:30. There was about 10 of us in the group. I was the only road bike, and there was like 6 or 7 touring bikes and a couple mountain bikes. I was definitely the odd man out. It was tons of fun, though. The road we went on was the one road Josh had told me about that I hadn't taken yet, and of course it was the best one. Nice rolling hills and BEAUTIFUL scenery. I saw tons of cyclists too, including the group I think Josh was telling me about. There looked to be 40-50 of them and they were really fast. Our destination town was Villaneuva del Rio y Minas. Iain told me it was an old mining town. It was really, really cool. Small and quiet. We took it really, really slow on the way out. Lots of stops and averaged around 12 mph. It was already 12:30 when we got there, and I wanted to be back for lunch at 3, and they were going to wait around and have a bite at the bar, then some of them were going to take the train back to Sevilla and some were going to ride. I couldn't wait that long, so I said my thanks and goodbyes and came on back. I had a nice tail/crosswind for most of the ride and was able to make awesome time getting back. It took us nearly 4 hours total to get there and it took me a little over an hour and a half to get back lol. It was cycling heaven. 8:45 a.m. - 2:20 p.m. |

Fri, Jan 27, 2012 - 17.82 mi [Cycling] |
|
17.82 mi in 01:20:00 hours at 13.37 mi/h on Specialized Tarmac Pro. [Cycling] Went south of town this time to see what it was like. Took Paseo de la Palmera, which turns into Hwy N-IV. Wasn't too crazy about it. The roads weren't great for a bike and the bike lanes were too slow. It sprinkled on me for a little bit. 4:00-5:30 p.m. |
