26.90 mi in 01:35:20 hours at 16.93 mi/h on Cannondale CAAD9. [Cycling] felt alright. 35 minute threshold in the middle of this workout. it hurt a lot.
37.80 mi in 01:52:29 hours at 20.16 mi/h on Cannondale CAAD9. [Cycling] maggie valley road race. racing with the 5's. had one of the worst starts ever because i wasnt ready and wasnt clipped in on either side for the start. the pace was very fast at the start of the race on the slight downhill. we were going roughly 30 for a while with the little rollers obviously slowing us down. i was averaging 25 when we hit the hill on the backside of the loop. the race split up like crazy the first time on that hill. by the time we got around to do the second loop we were down to 9 people in the lead group i think. on the second time on the hill one guy went off the front and he was away for good. i dont think we dropped anyone that time around on the hill though. then when we hit johns creek for the climb to the finish i went to the front to set pace a little but on the false flat part i kind of started to die a little. then on the final steeper sections i got passed by all but one of the people in my group so i ended up 8th. still, good result, good weekend. my IT band bothered me a tiny bit at one point and so did the tendon behind my right knee. this ride numbers include coming back down the mountain from the top to the parking lot. still same average speed as the top though. 22.8 average i think when we hit the bottom of johns creek during the race though.
