25.20 mi on Independent Fabrication Crown Jewel Blacktop. [Cycling] Another hot day...left early to beat the traffic and the heat. Big old porcupine road kill at the top of SOB hill made for a somber start. Cloud cover on the way home was a release as was the brief downpours I rode through...I didn't mind at all.
25.20 mi on Jamis Chevy Nova. [Cycling] Got an early start this morning and what a difference. Little traffic. Cooler. Quieter. Passed a bunch of families waiting for the bus to take their kids to their first day of school...me too! Hot and my first good south wind on the way home. Took it easy until I was passed by a big guy on a funky BMC. Caught him, talked to him, then let him go. Too toasty.
25.20 mi in 01:35:00 hours at 15.92 mi/h on Jamis Chevy Nova. [Cycling] Finishing the new blacktop on Falls Road added another dimension to my commute both ways today. A-hole, impatient drivers and a nasal invasion that included smoky-smelly-sulfur greeted me for the ride in. Rode alongside Jen Hyman after work, then the record heat and sticky, fresh asphalt made the ride home interesting. I kept telling myself..."this paving is going to make my commute so much easier and safer."
25.20 mi on Independent Fabrication Crown Jewel Blacktop. [Cycling] First official commute of the school year. They're starting new blacktop on Falls Road which will make the commute SO much more comfortable. Lots of traffic in the morning as a result of the new asphalt. Felt good both ways. Barner and I booked it home in the afternoon in the heat.
