18.01 mi in 01:07:02 hours at 16.12 mi/h on Argon 18 Plutonium. [Cycling] Quick pre-work ride along the Love Track to Belmont North and back. Did the Redhead to Whitebridge climb in 10 mins 39 secs - doing my impersonation of a heavily laden coal train all the way up (I love a good historical re-enactment)! A couple of drops of rain but nothing serious, plenty of water on the track in places. Didn't see any partly naked men and there was a complete absence of dwarves as well! |

33.34 mi in 01:57:54 hours at 16.97 mi/h on Argon 18 Plutonium. [Cycling] Members of the Church of the Latter Day Cyclists had a lovely hit-out today in warming conditions. I started the day by running the gauntlet of the newest Internet sensation - the Psycho Magpie of New Lambton. It got me with two hits on my neck below the helmet with its beak before it gave up. I was doing close to 40 kmh downhill and he still nailed me but only twice. The challenge is there to see who can outrun the PMoNL before the nesting season is complete. Had a challenging ride with NJ, MG, RG and GS all of whom were very strong -scarily so in places. My attempted sly break away before the Brewery Sprint was thwarted by a red-light otherwise it was mine!! Watching the boys jockeying for position for the sprint was nerve wracking as they marked time behind a very slow moving truck along Honeysuckle Drive. Nice coffee as always at 2300 - where they know Nathan's name...but not Mick's. |

33.32 mi in 01:55:01 hours at 17.38 mi/h on Argon 18 Plutonium. [Cycling] Big crew for the SMRR even the FOCs were on board but alas no DS - Are the rumours true, is he dead?! - Tried a long range attack for the Brewery Sprint from Carrington but they caught and then rolled over me along Honeysuckle Drive! Everyone got to hear from CI2 about his 6 inch clot - at least I think that's what he said! Got some grief from a bald, fat bloke in a car at Adamstown who claimed to be a "cyclist too". Said we were "rude" for blocking his path for a full 30 seconds while waiting to cross at the intersection with Glebe Rd. So apparently you now have the "right" to verbal cyclists if you too are a cyclist! WTF? |

33.34 mi in 02:04:19 hours at 16.09 mi/h on Argon 18 Plutonium. [Cycling] What the other guys said! The ride was Dwarf free. Puddles posed the biggest hurdle (or pitfall today). Chest cold still in residence but I felt good for the hit out. Got the KOM points at the little known "high point" of Kooks Hill! :) |
