51.92 mi in 03:07:01 hours at 16.66 mi/h on Argon 18 Plutonium. [Cycling] Went out for a solo SuMRR - lovely weather for it. Did the Bucket and felt good so did the Love Track as well (I had some time up my sleeve). Saw Guru heading west at Sandgate in the distinctive TDS-Stella jersey - gave him a big wave. A cool breeze and sea fog rolled in once I got to the Foreshore - temp dropped by about 10 degrees. Had a solo coffee at 2300 then headed off to the Love Track. Traffic wasn't too bad - usual assortment of walkers, riders and rollerbladers. Did it tough coming up the Whitebridge Hill (about the 70 km mark for the day) and managed a time of 11 mins 1 sec for the climb on very weary legs. I see more of this in my future as I train for the 100km Enduro at Capital Punishment in March! |

32.29 mi in 01:57:42 hours at 16.46 mi/h on Argon 18 Plutonium. [Cycling] Lovely day for a SMRR with Guru, Toasted and Eurobunter. Managed to sneak the sprint points at Mayfield in a Robbie McEwen-esque solo sneak attack with just metres to spare. Guru took the Brewery sprint by going hard early. As it would happen the cycling gods took a dim view of my sneak attack and cast a rear wheel slow puncture my way and I pulled up with Toasted to change tubes just east of the Brewery. A quick change then saw me back on the road but the anger of the cycling gods had not been sated and hence they cast forth another puncture in my direction - this time caused less than 20m from where I fixed the last one courtesy of a shard of glass.Walked pathetically to 2300 where Guru showed us how it's done. Guru had to go to the GTA open day and I rode back with Toasted. |

Did the Redhead to Whitebridge climb in 10 mins 39 secs - doing my impersonation of a heavily laden coal train all the way up (I love a good historical re-enactment)! A couple of drops of rain but nothing serious, plenty of water on the track in places. Didn't see any partly naked men and there was a complete absence of dwarves as well! |
