Ride Detail
Sat, Apr 14, 2012 - 53.19 mi [Cycling] Details
53.19 mi in 02:59:45 hours at 17.75 mi/h on Argon 18 Plutonium. [Cycling] SMRR + Carmen's Birthday Ride with Guru, MG and Toasted - Arrived without arm warmers which was the only good decision I made all ride. Decided to have a crack at the Cemetery KOM and despite nearly imploding only managed to equal, not better, my PR. Then proceeded to suffer like a beaten dog for the rest of the ride, such is the cost of an ego writing cheques that the body can't cash! Saw some trucks doing some stupid tailgating up Telstra Hill. Felt a bit better at Carrington so had a crack at a new sprint segment I created called Cav-alicious and managed to snag 4th place overall on equal time with Carmen! Nice coffee at 2300 then back to the Love Track via the usual route. Quads were absolutely trashed so I grovelled up and down the Love Track. Had a crack at Scum Rises where some muscle bound knucklehead listening to his iPod decided he would step into the middle of the track as I tried to pass him. He didn't hear the expletives but Carmen did (my apologies). Didn't get a PR as there were too many moving obstacles and my quads were totally trashed. Limped up the R2W climb and managed to drop my chain along the top section before Burwood Road. Met up with the crew again below the tunnel exit and then crawled home a beaten man.

You desire to know the art of living, my friend? It is contained in one phrase: make use of suffering.

I wish I could suffer as much as you Ev.

Sun, Apr 1, 2012 - 63.89 mi [Cycling] Details
63.89 mi in 03:41:12 hours at 17.33 mi/h on Argon 18 Plutonium. [Cycling] Met up with Euro at the Foggy Stadium at 6 (the old 7) and after a quick bike change for Euro we headed up to the Richardson Road underpass. Today was B-Double Day with quite a few figuring I needed to have the sh!t scared out of me at 15 minute intervals. Good ride to the underpass and back. Euro got a sidewall flat on the way back just past the bridge at Sandgate. Euro had his first go using CO2 and was quite underwhelmed with the experience. Used my HP pump to top off the pressure then he headed home to family duties. I kept going into town only to find a couple of targeted Strava segments were closed off due to a run of some sort. Had a coffee at 2300 by myself and enjoyed the scenery. Then headed up Scenic Drive and out along the Love Track and back. Cracked 100 for the day and got a PR on Scenic so a pretty good outcome in the end.
Sun, Mar 25, 2012 - 51.69 mi [Cycling] Details
51.69 mi in 03:07:17 hours at 16.56 mi/h on Argon 18 Plutonium. [Cycling] Rode to the Gang with Guru, managed to get a pinch flat on the front wheel after hitting something hard just before the bridge. Headed back into town then around beaches, up on to The Hill via Watt St, down Memorial, up Scenic Drive, then onto Love Track to Belmont and return. Had a crack at Scum Rises then cruised up R2W. Headed up to John Hunter and Lookout Road then home. It was "Slow walking elderly couple" day on the FT.
