Toasted Newcastle/Australia
Ride Detail
Sat, Nov 19, 2011 - 35.87 mi [Cycling] Details
35.87 mi in 02:06:09 hours at 17.06 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] After a night of no sleep due to stupid neighbours, I met up with Guru, Eurobunter, Napalm, Lambofrob and C-Ice. Was feeling very lethargic as soon as we took off and had a hard time keeping up most of the way. A combination of lack of strength today and the boys setting a high pace meant a very difficult ride for Toasted today. The boys took off up Telstra Hill and turned onto Industrial Drive and once I hit Industrial Drive I was sitting on 37-44km/hr just to try and close the gap but couldn't, they were on a mission today that's for sure. Very glad to rest for coffee at 2300 where I was given the choice whether we rode KEP and Scenic or not.......because apparently I'm crazy, I decided we ride it. I told the boys to just ride and we'd meet at the top of Scenic but after flying down Memorial they waited for me and said we would ride Scenic as a team... very sweet, thanks boys. They encouraged me up and I made it....saw MP getting ready for track work in Glenrock. Made it home to start organising for a birthday party with very tired legs. A nice warm ride with a great team.

Well done Toasted. I noticed your QOMs on Strava. Also noticed you had the second cleanest bike on the ride.

Thu, Nov 17, 2011 - 25.22 mi [Cycling] Details
25.22 mi in 01:36:05 hours at 15.75 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Woke up and hoped for a clear day but no...just a wet miserable day. The thought of doing Sufferfest made me feel ill so decided to head out on my bike (as I'm one of the toughest in TDS) even though weatherzone said 90% chance of rain, pffftttttt what would they know? Headed for my usual Hills route, Oakdale Rd, Redhead Bluff, Belmont and R2W climb. To my absolute surprise it rained the whole way and there was not a sole out bar a few crazy people walking on the FLT. R2W climb was about strength today and not speed and did it in the big ring at the front the whole way, am still the fastest female on Strava for the climb so all is good. Felt strong, wet and very dirty when I got home, and enjoyed a well earned shower. Great ride on my baby today.

Mon, Nov 14, 2011 - 20.74 mi [Cycling] Details
20.74 mi in 01:08:47 hours at 18.09 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] After school drop off's headed out in the wind and heat for a quickie to Belmont. Wind direction meant a head wind on the return so an attempt at KOM R2W climb was out of the question.......instead took on KOM of W2Jewells. That I did indeed, am now KOM for Southbound W2Jewells on Strava out of 64 people (sorry Napalm)!!!!! woot...... did it in 8.51 and averaged 42.9kms/hr max at 50.54.....I was flying, I love this Strava app on my phone!!!! Was very hot and windy and saw a woman walking 2 goats on leads, as we do. Great ride with tired legs, now to give my baby a rest for 2 days.

Sun, Nov 13, 2011 - 23.77 mi [Cycling] Details
23.77 mi in 01:26:29 hours at 16.49 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] After yesterday's SMRR smash out and a very long sleep last night I headed to Belmont and back with the Redhead Bluff thrown in for good luck. Beautiful day with nothing to report. Got home and a while later noticed my front tyre flat, checked tyre and changed tube, picked out som tiny bits of glass and put another tube in, 10 mins later flat again grrrrrrrr. Rechecked and changed now waiting to see if it survives through the night ready for my Monday ride. Great ride with my baby and feeling good.

Sat, Nov 12, 2011 - 36.72 mi [Cycling] Details
36.72 mi in 02:05:48 hours at 17.51 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Met Guru, Napalm, Lamb and Eurobunter for SMRR. Started out quick and its how it stayed for the rest of the ride, the boys were on a speed mission thats for sure. The normal route with Eurobunter leaving us at Sandgate and we headed for Hexham. Lots of riders out today, as we headed for 2300. By the time we arrived at 2300 I was pretty stuffed, the boys giving me a good workout.....it only got worse from then......When we left they decided to do TDS KOM of Kind Edward Park where the 3 of them stopped at the top to watch their Toasted emerge up the ramp.....ugh.......and then Scenic Dr on the way home.....double ugh!!!!! Anyway I survived and felt pretty good considering my legs felt like they were going to fall off. I just love hills...NOT! A great ride with the boys and my baby.
