35.87 mi in 02:06:09 hours at 17.06 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] After a night of no sleep due to stupid neighbours, I met up with Guru, Eurobunter, Napalm, Lambofrob and C-Ice. Was feeling very lethargic as soon as we took off and had a hard time keeping up most of the way. A combination of lack of strength today and the boys setting a high pace meant a very difficult ride for Toasted today. The boys took off up Telstra Hill and turned onto Industrial Drive and once I hit Industrial Drive I was sitting on 37-44km/hr just to try and close the gap but couldn't, they were on a mission today that's for sure. Very glad to rest for coffee at 2300 where I was given the choice whether we rode KEP and Scenic or not.......because apparently I'm crazy, I decided we ride it. I told the boys to just ride and we'd meet at the top of Scenic but after flying down Memorial they waited for me and said we would ride Scenic as a team... very sweet, thanks boys. They encouraged me up and I made it....saw MP getting ready for track work in Glenrock. Made it home to start organising for a birthday party with very tired legs. A nice warm ride with a great team.
35.56 mi on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Only myself and Napalm turning up for SMRR this morning. Headed off into the chill and my fingers were soon numb. Had a go up Cemetery but just didn't have the form today although I did better my time. TT to Hexham at good pace then my turn to bring us home. I obviously wasn't fast enough for Napalm at about 33km/hr so he got in front of me and did another turn. Napalm had a TT go at Cavalious then had to pull over to do a wee! Near the pub at Carrington he got a flat and I offered my CO2 because it's just so cool......Bitches love CO2. Off again and an attempt at Flat out along the Foreshore grabbed me a QOM. 2300 for a coffee where I was glad to be stopped after my week on the bike. RS called in to say hi and said to Naplam, "I see you brought the Queen with you" hehe I am famous :)) Headed home to find access to Kotara near blocked by the truck that turned, so had to detour back onto FLT, up Northcott and down Lexington, traffic was crazy. Great ride.
23.62 mi on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Main aim today was to update my Bluff time and that I did. Headed to Belmont then home along FLT. Cruising home enjoying the warmth a guy passed me half way up the climb on a mtb, his legs were pretty big and ripped. I sat on his wheel and after a while could see him shaking his head and just looking uncomfortable, we weren't going very fast so I pulled out and told him I'd tow him up, he said he was stuffed! I was barely panting and just before the builders he thought he'd have a go at towing me up, he sat in front for about 1 min and I thought this is way to slow, so I pulled out and said " race you to the top"......he was goneeee, Toasted! Stopped at Burwood Rd lights for a bit and he pulled up, shaking his head and said, "you got me on the climb you bugger" Yep, there was no other outcome in my mind, don't know what he thought would happen!! Pretty funny, great warm day to be out riding.
24.24 mi on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Met up with A1 on the Love Track and convinced him that riding the Bluff would be good for his health :) Headed for the bluff where I rode next to him the whole way up, making sure he couldn't blame me for another heart attack. He handled it like a pro and we headed to Belmont then home via FLT. Al really enjoyed it, I chipped him for having a red Garmin and told him to join up to Strava. Nice and warm out today.
27.99 mi on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Headed out into the warmth for a change. Swansea via FLT, tempo from Belmont to Swansea and back. Smashed myself on Spuma, passed a black snake on way home just before wank bridge. Cruised home slowly only to find I hadn't started my Strava when I left!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!
