35.87 mi in 02:06:09 hours at 17.06 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] After a night of no sleep due to stupid neighbours, I met up with Guru, Eurobunter, Napalm, Lambofrob and C-Ice. Was feeling very lethargic as soon as we took off and had a hard time keeping up most of the way. A combination of lack of strength today and the boys setting a high pace meant a very difficult ride for Toasted today. The boys took off up Telstra Hill and turned onto Industrial Drive and once I hit Industrial Drive I was sitting on 37-44km/hr just to try and close the gap but couldn't, they were on a mission today that's for sure. Very glad to rest for coffee at 2300 where I was given the choice whether we rode KEP and Scenic or not.......because apparently I'm crazy, I decided we ride it. I told the boys to just ride and we'd meet at the top of Scenic but after flying down Memorial they waited for me and said we would ride Scenic as a team... very sweet, thanks boys. They encouraged me up and I made it....saw MP getting ready for track work in Glenrock. Made it home to start organising for a birthday party with very tired legs. A nice warm ride with a great team.
20.90 mi on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] After school holidays, rain and what seems like 6 months off the bike I headed out to Belmont on the Love Track. No smashing just a steady pace and surprisingly didn't feel as bad as expected. Saw a turtle on the track and lots of people riding without helmets. Had a strange right bum cheek cramp which was quite painful the whole ride home, think my body was in shock to be riding again. Good ride and training will resume Thursday after the kids get another freakin day off school tomoz.
20.70 mi on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Headed out mid afternoon for a RR on the Love Track decked out and looking very Euro in my new kit. Head wind to Belmont wasn't flash at all, keeping my HR up. Tailwind home made it difficult to stay in recovery mode so had a burst up R2W getting an ok time. Not many on the track and overcast sky made for a nice quick ride on my baby.
51.88 mi in 03:00:02 hours at 17.29 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Headed out for my pre-Birthday ride with Guru, Ev and Ellviner. Good pace, Ev smashed the Hadley's Crew up Cemetery which in turn smashed him for the rest of the ride. I claimed Telstra KOM but have a sneaky feeling the boys never chased :) Fast ride into 2300 where Richard Stanton joined us at Carrington, I introduced myself and his response was...."So you're the famous Carmen" Famous!!!!!! TDS's Queen is Famous!!!!!! Ev took off on Cav-ilicious and I decided to chase but just didn't reach him before he sat up, I still got my best time though. Guru shouted me a coffee at 2300 where we spoke about alcohol. Headed to Belmont on FLT at a nice pace, no Strava smashing today but Ev wanted to have a go at Scum Rises...we let him go. Cruisey R2W climb and home. Great ride, thanks boys.
20.74 mi on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Finally made it out after a week off the bike. Felt ok, lots of traffic on the track. Just started to warm up by the end of the ride.
34.47 mi in 01:58:27 hours at 17.46 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] SMRR with Guru, Napalm, Euro, Lamb, BMO, Dave and that chick. Usual route and decent pace. Led the boys home from Hexham to Koorangang turn off where Lamb was impressed with my high HR. Stopped at the Velodrome where Lamb and Napalm did a few hot laps. Great ride and got some more good times today. Legs are now officially fried.
