Ride Detail
Sat, Jan 7, 2012 - 33.73 mi [Cycling] Details
33.73 mi in 01:57:34 hours at 17.21 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Left for Ev's Birthday SMRR with hills to look forward too. Got to stadium where Napalm got a text to say Ev had a broken spoke and wasn't joining us :( Napalm, Euro, Tony and Tony's friend Frank headed off for the normal SMRR route. Nice pace, smashed the Sandgate climb. Won the Phoenix sprint by pushing myself through a gap in the middle of the pack and second in Brewery Sprint to Napalm (was a last minute thought on my behalf that I would actually have a sprint...plus Euro encouraged me to "go get him" :) Great coffee at 2300 where Tony and Frank departed and headed home. Nice ride home, the boys drooling over 2 lesbians, talk of tattoo's in private body areas and weird objects stuck up unusual parts of the body. Left the boys on FLT and headed home where Euro was heading to Belmont and back. Fun ride to start the day.

Thu, Jan 5, 2012 - 20.72 mi [Cycling] Details
20.72 mi in 01:10:59 hours at 17.52 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Been avoiding the wind the last few days but after a lazy day at the beach I decided to head out for a quick run to Belmont and back to earn my Bourbon this arvo :) A few people out, smashed some Euro guy down the climb, he passed me on Adamstown side of the track but once we crossed Burwood Rd I caught him and sat on his bum, not sure if he realised I was even there....then once the decent started I pulled out and Toasted him (as I am Queen of the decent nobody Toasts me) crossed the road at Belmont where he passed me soon after. Still a bit windy but bearable....just sat on a nice medium pace the whole way and managed another QOM somehow. A great end to an awesome day.

Route FLT/Whitebridge
Mon, Jan 2, 2012 - 37.34 mi [Cycling] Details
37.34 mi in 02:21:13 hours at 15.87 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Met early with Euro and Napalm. Headed out to Link Rd, Homesville, Barnsley, Teralba, Warners bay, through Charlestown to Whitebridge where we entered track to Adamstown. Napalm departed for family duties and Euro and myself cruised into Hamilton for a coffee. Nice coffee and chat then home. The boys introduced me to Rhonda Rd, where I sang 'Help Me Rhonda' the whole way up and also managed a QOM. Missed Hillsborough Rd QOM by 2 secs...2 secs FM! Saw 2 little Euro boys out with Mum and Dad on FLT at Adamstown and a little clever boy on a unicycle. Awesome ride and felt really good on the bike.

Sun, Jan 1, 2012 - 27.85 mi [Cycling] Details
27.85 mi in 01:41:38 hours at 16.44 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] My babies left me this morning so headed out for a ride to Blacksmiths and back via Love Track. Mr Weatherman should be sacked because weather report said SE....I headed into a head/cross wind thinking this is bearable but at least I'll have an awesome tail wind ride home. Turned at Blacksmiths and holy hell!!!! there was no sign of a tailwind, very strong head/cross wind again which was pretty unbearable!!! Very strange wind conditions today so no attempt was made at R2W climb, only attempt made was to actually keep my baby upright. Saw an elderly man riding with his grandson fall off his bike onto his back at Whitebridge, I stopped to offer help but he said he was ok and got back on his bike. A man that looked like Santa was on the track with his long white beard blowing in the wind, he was even kitted out!!! At Redhead footy field the cutest little Euro boy (looked about 8 or 9 years old) entered the track on the tiniest road bike I've seen. A difficult ride today where 44 kms felt like 84 in that stupid wind!!

Route Town/Hills/Torture
Sat, Dec 31, 2011 - 33.77 mi [Cycling] Details
33.77 mi in 01:56:02 hours at 17.46 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Saddled up for my first SMRR in 4-5 weeks and last for the year, with Napalm, Guru, Euro, Cadel and guest appearance from CTE. A good pace right from the start, with all of us taking turns the whole ride. Got to Sandgate Hill where Cadel lept in front and powered, feeling strong I kept and good distance with Napalm encouraging me to chase, rolled him at the top and my HRM was about to explode. Lead the boys to Hexham with Napalm into the head wind, turned to come home at Ozzie Mozzie when Cadel nearly took himself and Euro out at the lights, nobody came off which was lucky. Headed towards Industrial Dr where I managed to hold a nice pace up Telstra Hill for a change. Coming up to Phoenix Sprint I noticed the boys weren't going to go for it but I was on the inside so I just had to sit in....Cadel on my right moved out and made a dash for it so I decided to go with him, we flew past the pack heading for victory when Napalm noticed and jumped straight into sprint mode to take the points. I was flying and could hear the cheers from the boys as my little legs were pedalling as fast as they could. Headed to 2300 for a well deserved coffee. Headed home to enjoy a few hours to myself, left the boys on FLT who decided to head to Belmont. An awesome last fast pace SMRR for 2011 with a great group. Another 2 QOM's on Strava for me, Sandgate and Telstra Hill, yippeeee!
