33.73 mi in 01:57:34 hours at 17.21 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Left for Ev's Birthday SMRR with hills to look forward too. Got to stadium where Napalm got a text to say Ev had a broken spoke and wasn't joining us :( Napalm, Euro, Tony and Tony's friend Frank headed off for the normal SMRR route. Nice pace, smashed the Sandgate climb. Won the Phoenix sprint by pushing myself through a gap in the middle of the pack and second in Brewery Sprint to Napalm (was a last minute thought on my behalf that I would actually have a sprint...plus Euro encouraged me to "go get him" :) Great coffee at 2300 where Tony and Frank departed and headed home. Nice ride home, the boys drooling over 2 lesbians, talk of tattoo's in private body areas and weird objects stuck up unusual parts of the body. Left the boys on FLT and headed home where Euro was heading to Belmont and back. Fun ride to start the day.
19.15 mi on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Met Napalm for some Mole Hills before half a day at school for book week parade and sausage sizzle. Felt better up Burwood Rd and the Bluff but crap in between, just couldn't get my breath. It's pretty depressing, my mind wants to do what the body used to be able to do but the body just can't do it. My lungs are struggling at the moment..Cruised home for a quick shower and then off to school, nice ride with my baby stealth machine.
20.93 mi on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Headed for the love Track for a RR. First lights I got to on Park Ave turned orange and I stopped, the lights turned red and I hear from behind me the acceleration and roar of an engine as a white V8 Commodore flashes past me.....I shake me head. Love Track was busy with walkers and riders enjoying the day. Cruisy ride for me giving my HR a little rest. Nice easy ride on my baby with a new chain fitted by our team mechanic last night, was a smooth quiet stealth machine today.
24.23 mi on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Headed out West today to reclaim some QOM's that I'd lost while I was off sick..Nice and warm on the bike and the only thing that spoilt the ride was inconsiderate dickhead motorists trying to kill me. Its just ridiculous, people getting their licences these days should be more educated about sharing the road and removing their arrogant attitudes before they are allowed anywhere near a car. Maybe they should have to go on a few rides so they can experience just how bad it really is. Otherwise a nice ride with my baby.
18.75 mi on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Headed out after a long morning in Toronto with Ella, to try and better my Mole Hills times from Saturday. Felt heaps better from Burwood Rd through Dudley to Redhead Rd, flew down Redhead Rd to try and outdo my Screamer time, my little legs were smoking! Found the Reverse Redhead Bluff KOM last night so looped around to do that after the original Bluff effort......bloody stuffed by the time I got to that. On to Kalaroo Rd then straight onto Love Track and cruise home up the climb.. Working pretty hard to reclaim my form which hopefully is slowly coming back, although my climbing ability is struggling a fair bit. Nice day out but still a bit fresh with the cold breeze. Good ride with my baby.
21.63 mi on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Headed for the Mole Hills with RG, MG, Euro and Napalm hoping the wind might help me a bit but it didn't. I knew the ride would be tough and was feeling a bit anxious for my first group ride in just over 4 months. My fears were realised pretty early in the ride with me being spat for most of the ride. Knew I'd get Mole Hills even if I walked as no other woman has done it yet, so now that is my own time to improve on. Downhill screamer is now mine as well, I knew I'd need a good time as The Gruplet owned it, managed an average of 48.9, I was flying. I gave strict instructions at the beginning of the ride that the boys could smash mole hills as long as they waited for me at the top of the bluff, boys being boys couldn't follow instructions and I found a wandering and lost Euro at the top (lucky I'm an expert around the hills of Newcastle) , coached Euro off the bluff to find the boys at the beach.....you shall now all be beheaded. Rode to Jewells and back onto the track where we passed Guru MTBing with friend and then on to the Nags.....a beer has NEVER tasted so good (oh and I also got referred to as a man at the pub). Love my group rides because these are the ones that will make me stronger, even though it was windy it was a great ride with my baby and the homies.
