Ride Detail
Sat, Feb 4, 2012 - 39.63 mi [Cycling] Details
39.63 mi in 02:18:06 hours at 17.22 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Dry SMRR with Guru, Napalm and CTE. Headed off at a fast pace and soon after my legs reminding me that my last ride was Oz Day....felt it the whole ride but managed to hang in there. Guru and Napalm lead CTE up Cemetery KOM, Guru peeling off where I caught up and we lead the boys to Hexham then back to Telstra climb, had to save their legs for KOM and all the sprints to come. Got to Brewery Sprint where I tried to convince the boys that the sprint was called off today, Guru suggesting that I would sprint, the guns looked nervous, so I had no choice but to go for it, a bit to early for my liking and the wrong gear. Got a lead but then CTE passed with Napalm in hot pursuit and nearly not getting around me due to my speed, I let him through and he won the sprint. My first free coffee at 2300 :) Headed home, Guru and CTE leaving us and Napalm and myself cruised to Whitebridge and then home on the Love track. Very hard ride for me today but has started my pro riding career for the year. Great ride as always.

Thu, Jan 26, 2012 - 58.40 mi [Cycling] Details
58.40 mi in 03:14:45 hours at 17.99 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Australia Day TDS Ride with Guru, Napalm, Euro, Evimov, Jerome, Lamb and another friend of Euro's who joined us past Sandgate. Rode to Maitland (what Guru said), roads were pretty dryish considering the rain we've had. I felt ok and had 2 strong hill climbs (for me anyway) and a nice sprint downhill (because that's my thing) past the boys. Ev flatted just before Seaham where the cow shit flies were eating me alive, Euro flatted just before coming into Hexham where the human flies were eating me alive, along with road slugs that were attached to me. Boys went for KOM up Telstra Hill as always and Lamb nearly came down in the middle of the lane, his left foot unclipping, nice save. Stopped at Roller Door for coffee where MG came and showed us his new car, we weren't allowed to christen it with our bike sweat. Great ride as always and a miracle we stayed dry.

Sun, Jan 22, 2012 - 27.92 mi [Cycling] Details
27.92 mi in 01:42:10 hours at 16.40 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] After a nice sleep-in headed out with Mikey for a ride, Love Track through to Blacksmiths and back. Pretty disgusting headwind on way out slowing us down, turned to come home and it was a ripper tailwind. Got to Redhead and the wind had turned head/cross so wasn't planning an assault on the R2W climb. Nearly half way up and the wind was great, turned back to Mikey and said lets go, towed him up to get him a cracking time of 9.03, would love to know what we would have got if we started at the beginning of the climb. Over the timber bridge Mikey lost his tool bag from under his saddle. Great ride with the 2 Giants, Thanks Mikey :)

Sat, Jan 21, 2012 - 40.26 mi [Cycling] Details
40.26 mi in 02:22:01 hours at 17.01 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Headed out for SMRR and was so excited at the return of Ellviner that I forgot my glasses, a quick u-turn back to home and then I was off again. Met a nearly unrecognisable MG(beard :) Napalm, Lamb and BMO for our usual route. Legs felt the holiday break on the climbs but ok otherwise. MG rode like a pro that has never left the bike, well done. Enjoyed a coffee at 2300 where I got my first coffee card woohooooo!!!!! And listened to Lamb discussing buying a tablet to watch porn on. Great ride home, Lamb and MG departing at NJC, Naplam and myself cruising along FLT to Whitebridge, turned around then home. A humid but great ride on my baby and welcome back MG!
