Ride Detail
Sun, Apr 29, 2012 - 31.37 mi [Cycling] Details
31.37 mi on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Call for midday ride was answered by Napalm on FB. Met at the servo on Bridges Rd where he suggested we ride Sugarloaf. Ummm no thanks, but he wouldn't listen, so we headed for the Loaf. I was stressing out so much I didn't have time to complain like I usually would, my HR was high just thinking about it. Started to drizzle with rain at Cameron Park but thankfully stopped before the climb. Napalm rode with me, at the start I said, "is this it?" he laughed at me, said "the ramp" was coming up and once I did that I'd be right. All I could see was the road getting steeper and I was stressing, especially once I realised I had no gears left!!! Made the ramp and Napalm said he'd meet me at the top, I came around the last corner which is freakin steep and he had his phone out for pics, oh no!! Had a drink and took the long decent down where I realised just how bloody steep that Loaf truly is. Just before we made it to the bottom the heavens opened up, I mean it was flogging down sooooo hard it was hurting my skin. Trying to breath through my nose meant breathing in rain water, the roads were greasy and it totally sucked!!! Headed home via a few cycle paths from Glendale to home where I had a very long hot shower to thaw out my feet, I was sooooooo cold. Very proud of myself that I finally attempted it, now all is left is to smash Gruplet off Strava. Thanks for the torture Napalm :)

Sat, Apr 28, 2012 - 33.83 mi [Cycling] Details
33.83 mi in 01:58:02 hours at 17.20 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Met Euro and Elviner for SMRR. After school holidays there's nothing like a SMRR to remind me I'm alive. Caught Hadley's group on Cemetry KOM and they were going so slow we nearly fell off our bikes, so we passed. One guy was towing a kiddie trailer with 2 kids in it and a child seat on his bike with another child, his bike sounded like it was ready to fall apart. Hexham and back at good pace where we caught and smashed a few groups making sure we claimed all sprints, Elviner checking in with me, "Did you smash that chick?" Sure did and turned out she is my neighbour, aka Cleat Girl, because every morning she heads out to ride she clips in her cleats right in front of my bedroom window. 2300 for coffee and laughs, headed home leaving the boys to do some RC laps. Great ride to kick start my heart again.

Thu, Apr 26, 2012 - 29.47 mi [Cycling] Details
29.47 mi on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Out into the gail force winds, Toasted rode to Swansea. By-passed Spuma as the headwind was only letting me sit on around 25km/hr, it was pretty strong for my little body, being thrown around like a yoyo. Turned at roundabout in Swansea, chose the big gears and flew home like a rocket, got to FLT and cruised home. Mixed bag of people on the track today, a newcomer female that was either overweight or a trackie, decked out in a pretty nice new looking kit, her thighs and butt were about twice the size of my body each. Saw a jogger up ahead towards Jewells and thought..."is he in a kit?" passed him and he was!!! Running in a bike kit with his baggy saggy chamois flopping around his butt!! Gross. People with helmets on theirs heads but not done up, why bother? Nice temp to ride in but pretty windy, great to be back on the baby again.

Tue, Apr 24, 2012 - 20.90 mi [Cycling] Details
20.90 mi on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] After school holidays, rain and what seems like 6 months off the bike I headed out to Belmont on the Love Track. No smashing just a steady pace and surprisingly didn't feel as bad as expected. Saw a turtle on the track and lots of people riding without helmets. Had a strange right bum cheek cramp which was quite painful the whole ride home, think my body was in shock to be riding again. Good ride and training will resume Thursday after the kids get another freakin day off school tomoz.

Mon, Apr 16, 2012 - 20.70 mi [Cycling] Details
20.70 mi on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Headed out mid afternoon for a RR on the Love Track decked out and looking very Euro in my new kit. Head wind to Belmont wasn't flash at all, keeping my HR up. Tailwind home made it difficult to stay in recovery mode so had a burst up R2W getting an ok time. Not many on the track and overcast sky made for a nice quick ride on my baby.
