Have registered for ATB 210km... so this is my first official 'training' ride.
Perfect morning, 15 - 19 deg C, cloudless blue sky, hardly any breeze so every which way was OK. Could easily see the planes flying overhead...hope one was Dee finally flying off to Singapore???
Rode Epsom via Racecourse, out to Fiveways and back, then into huntly and looped back via Ligar and Station St, through to highway. Across to Spring Gully and back home via Tannery Lane (met up with a young man on a blue Giant who pleased me no end when he said he was struggling to keep up :) Bennett's Rd hills and around the back of Junortoun to a welcome shower, change and LOG IN MY STATS!! |

Woodend MAD ride.
Dee too sick to ride, but still came along to cheer on the crowd. Started off so well, ride from Woodend to Lancefield a dream. Knew it was too good to be true. Out of Lancefield and the hill climbs came thick and strong. Seemed like just got down one hill and the next presented itself. Ran out of legs before the end, making the last 20km into the wind fairly gruelling. Found a friend to ride with (Chris - great chat along the way). Weather on the day was great - mostly overcast which made it easier to ride. Got quite hot when the sun came out from clouds.
Back at Woodend, met up with the rest of the crew (thanks for the cheers and claps when I rode in - special ) waiting at the coffee shop...late lunch and drive back to Bendigo.
