Ride Detail
Thu, Jan 26, 2012 - 62.14 mi [Cycling] Details
62.14 mi in 03:21:00 hours at 18.55 mi/h on Trek ZX 2100 Carbon. [Cycling] Met up with Napalm, Evimov, Toasted, Guru, Eurobunter & a couple of EB's mates for an Aussie Day ride. The weather was overcast but at least the rain had stopped but it was still very humid. Headed up the Pac Highway were we soon caught the wheels of some tri-hards who lead us to Raymond TearArse. Just over the bridge & Evimov was pulled up with the days 1st puncture. Napalm took over the replacement of tube & we were soon back on the road. As soon as we reached the rolling hills, the attacks started with Evimov showing great spirit, if not great form. Toasted was attacking on the downhills. No coffee to be found in Maitland & Eurobunter was the next flat just past Berro. Pedals that were unable to cope with my massive power output saw me out of contention & nearly on the road for the Telstra Hill climb. I regained my composure & took on Napalm for the Phoenix Sprint which was thought of at the time to just won by Napalm but a careful study of satellite imagery of the finish line reveals that I won this sprint quite comfortably. Into Rollador for coffee where Ellviner made an appearance to show off his new car. Finished the ride with Evimov doing laps of the NJC to bring up the ton. A great ride in good company where I showed myself to be teams new master of the Phoenix Sprint.

Sat, Jan 21, 2012 - 35.73 mi [Cycling] Details
35.73 mi in 02:02:00 hours at 17.57 mi/h on Opera Leonardo. [Cycling] 1st SMRR for 2012 & a most welcome return for the Ellviner. Toasted & BMO also fronted up on a humid morning for our regular ride. The usual route with Napalm complaining of heavy legs but taking all the KOM points anyway. At least I am getting closer to him. BMO left us at Sandgate & we headed into 2300 for coffee where the Cobwebs finally decided to stop & bask in our elite glory. Ellviner & & I finished off with three laps of the NJC.

Fri, Jan 20, 2012 - 32.06 mi [Cycling] Details
32.06 mi in 01:41:00 hours at 19.05 mi/h on Opera Leonardo. [Cycling] 1st Friday Night World Titles for 2012 & I was primed for a good result as part of my bid for B grade. An average field of around 22 riders with the usual, futile breakaways & attempts to time-trial to victory. We were all back together for the sprint which, with a cross wind, was late in starting. I was in a good position at third wheel. 2nd wheel died a quick death & I poured on the power but it was too late & I had to settle for 2nd place. If the race was 10m longer, victory would have been mine. Once again, I stood atop the concrete podium, resplendent in my Team DS kit, to collect the massive $15 purse.
Thu, Jan 19, 2012 - 21.75 mi [Cycling] Details
21.75 mi in 01:02:00 hours at 21.05 mi/h on Opera Leonardo. [Cycling] A warm & humid summers day. Perfect for a ride but not to chase Strava records, but chase I did, finishing with a couple of top 10s & a few PBs. Listened to the Post-Hardcore brilliance of Rise Against & their album of anger; Revolutions Per Minute
