Ride Detail
Sun, Feb 19, 2012 - 15.84 mi [Cycling] Details
15.84 mi in 01:40:00 hours at 9.51 mi/h on KHS Team ST. [Cycling] Met Evimov at DS Corner on The Love for a SuMMtBBR as part of our Capital Punishment preparation. Met Jerome at the TOC & the three of us headed into the bush. More talking & less riding & still a bit of mud around. Saw a heavily pregnant chick jogging (as long as she keeps it up after the bub, hubby should be happy) Had a flat near Viaduct & lost Evimov soon after. Ran into Colin out walking with TLW. (I think she was packing heat) Home for a quick recovery before doing it all again this arvo.

Sun, Feb 19, 2012 - 9.69 mi [Cycling] Details
9.69 mi in 01:03:00 hours at 9.23 mi/h on Titus Full Tilt Moto. [Cycling] Met up with Ed, MP, Frame Cracker Gus & Colin under clear skies for another installment of SAMBR. A laid back ride of the usual trails followed by a good session at the pub where we were joined by the Road Warriors Napalm & Ellviner, the well traveled Guru, the stented A1 & The DS. A great ride on an unusually summery weekend.

Fri, Feb 17, 2012 - 33.99 mi [Cycling] Details
33.99 mi in 01:47:00 hours at 19.06 mi/h on Opera Leonardo. [Cycling] Friday Night World Titles & even though I hadn't ridden all week, it's brains, not fitness that make a good B grade rider. Rode over with Napalm, aka Johnsey for smaller fields in both A & B. Napalm had to appeal to the handicapper to be allowed to race A. Faster pace than what I am used to & I found myself up the front more than I would have liked. Touched wheels on the last lap but I got my foot on the ground, my saddle up my clacker & managed to stay upright. Field together for the sprint & I was hoping to finish with the rest. A big hole opened up on the lee of the front group then most of the front runners seemed to just evaporate a few 100m out from the line. The Clear Cheer Squad motivated me to roll Newcastle's cycling royalty for a 4th place. A bloody tough race & I was stoked with my place.
Sun, Feb 12, 2012 - 47.29 mi [Cycling] Details
47.29 mi in 02:14:00 hours at 21.17 mi/h on Opera Leonardo. [Cycling] Headed over to Kooragang with Napalm & our entourage of super domestiques; Evimov & Eurobunter. I didn't have to ask what grade I was in. It was like they were expecting me as I was immediately handed the red number 13. Around 35 riders in B with a higher pace than I was used to but less surges. Two guys got away on the last lap & I managed to get the wheel of another who was going after them with half a lap to go. We worked together to bridge the gap then the four of us worked together to hold the gap. Three of us left at the finish. I couldn't believe I was going to place & I gave my last kick to take 2nd place. A great confidence boost & an unexpected chance to shout more beer this arvo.
Wed, Feb 8, 2012 - 21.75 mi [Cycling] Details
21.75 mi in 01:04:00 hours at 20.39 mi/h on Trek ZX 2100 Carbon. [Cycling] An unexpected break in the weather & I went for a lap of the track that loves TDS. A smorgasbord of hardbodies kept the heart rate high. Even the non hardbodies were still firm bodies. Plenty of serious cyclists out too but none more serious than Napalm who was smashing it up when I passed him before Whitebridge. Passed a couple of serious lookers on the way down to Redhead. One took my wheel & I dragged him all the way to Jewells, where I let him go at the crossing. He took off & he probably thought he was smashing me. Unfortunately for him, the race did not end at Belmont as I was soon on his wheel on the way back. He couldn't hold 30 at the beginning of the R2W climb & I was able to attack him at will & showed him the true meaning of power. Needless to say, I didn't see him again. Saw the hardbody bitch from racing who was true to form & ignored my wave. A cracking paced ride & a PR for Reg's Circuit.
