32.37 mi in 01:53:00 hours at 17.19 mi/h on Opera Leonardo. [Cycling] Bloody windy for the ANZACRR. Although I wanted to ride head on into the teeth of it to Muswellbrook & catch the train back, a team decision meant we took on the faggot option of the sheltered but teaming with families, training wheels, bladers, pram pushers, learners, bunters, dog walkers, fat dancing chicks......ie. every hazard known to the serious cyclists FLT. Sad day as I sold on the old Trek but at least it's in good hands & I may be allowed a reunion ride from time to time. Saw Mr " A C100 ticket in the hand will be worthless & unused in two weeks" decked out in 70's skate kit. No beers after the ride as we would have been eaten alive in our kit. Good, if frustratingly slow ride with Guru, Ellviner & Col.
21.38 mi in 01:11:11 hours at 18.02 mi/h on Opera Super Leonardo. [Cycling] A ride between rain with Napalm & The Pom. Copped more than the usual level of abuse, most of it coming from Commodores & Falcons. Good to get out again.
31.63 mi in 01:39:00 hours at 19.17 mi/h on Opera Leonardo. [Cycling] About 4 laps of the NJC before meeting up with Guru & Ellviner for a lap of Love under lights. Guru was suffering due to a) not being long back on the bike after breaking his neck b) It was his 2nd ride for the day & c) he was a Mtb with knobbly tires. Good run with traffic at the crossings kept the pace high. On the return leg, an ambitious bunter over took us. We kept him in check until he overtook another cyclist who then took his wheel. Good enough for him, good enough for us & a race was on. I recognised the 2nd wheel as a strong B grader from HDCC so I knew we were in for some punishment. My turn came at the start of R2W & I buried myself up the climb. I knew Ellviner was on my wheel but didn't know if we were alone. By the 1st bridge I had to back off & discovered there were still three of us. I also knew that old mate from HDCC is a very strong sprinter & I was going to have to concede. Which I did. Thank God he turned off at Whitebridge. I kept the pace high to get a good time for the whole of Fernleigh. Ended up being my 3rd fastest. A great ride on a pleasant night. My legs are now, officially trashed.
31.19 mi in 01:45:00 hours at 17.82 mi/h on Opera Leonardo. [Cycling] About time I hardened the f@#k up for the approaching winter. So with a dose of cement, I headed out for some hill work around town, around the beaches then a lap of the love track. Good to be back on the bike again. Listened to the Ministry of Sound's The Sound of Dub-Step.
12.43 mi on Titus Full Tilt Moto. [Cycling] A laid back ride around G'rock with Ellviner, The DS & John. The DS left early as expected, dodging the good trails to take on the dull ones. Met up at the pub with Napalm, Guru & Colin.
