Set off at 5am, chilly & foggy at first, very wet fog on high ground, got light about 6.15, arrived at start about 7.30. Ride started at 8am, still chilly & foggy, northeasterly wind, so headwind on first leg to Bridge & Sandwich, then tailwind down Elham valley and across Romney Marsh to New Romney, mostly cross/tailwind on last section. Sunny from Romney Marsh onwards but not warm. Got back to finish about 5.30pm, then fast ride back to Tonbridge for train. Mostly rode with Simon B. |
