34.80 mi on Giant OCR 2. [Cycling] Wet weather and work commitments kept me house bound all week. An attempted ride to Maitland was aborted at Hexham as a grey-green sky to the west and several cracks of lightning convinced the gruppetto to make a dash for cafe 2300, although we got a very wet tail from Sandgate to the city. The rain abated and given we were already wet, a small group of us headed off to Belmont via KEP, Scenic drive, Burwood Rd, Dudley. Time constraints saw me get back onto the FLT at Whitebridge and head for home, soaking but satisfied.
52.20 mi on Colnago CLX 3.0. [Cycling] Refreshed from my 2 week enforced lay-off, I joined the TDS bunch of Ev, NJ, MG and GS for the usual SMRR route. Not much was said about my new shoes but I copped lots of crap about my socks. Relax everyone I’ve managed to procure some genuine TDS socks ready for the next outing. Rolled on to Belmont for some FLT extra KM’s with the bunch, great morning on the Col
49.71 mi on Colnago CLX 3.0. [Cycling] Headed inland today with the Maitland bunch, starting to get hot on the way home. In truth I rode poorly and have been off my game for a couple of weeks despite logging plenty of KM's in recent weeks. Time for a 2 week break, self imposed cycling exile for me.
29.20 mi on Colnago CLX 3.0. [Cycling] A couple of race course laps then down to Belmont & return via the FLT. Dull & cool conditions, great for riding.
52.20 mi. [Cycling] Met up with brother-of-bunter & a collection of the Maitland peloton and headed south on the FLT via Burwood Rd to Redhead, then Belmont to Catherine Hill Bay turn-off, cruise through Catho village, return loop to the Hwy, then to Caves Beach hotel for coffee. Thankfully picked up a tail wind home for the return leg on the FLT. Excellent solid hit-out in overcast conditions, with plenty of hills to work off the Christmas excess.
