Eurobunter Newcastle
Ride Detail
Sun, Jul 22, 2012 - 24.23 mi [Cycling]
24.23 mi on Giant OCR 2. [Cycling] Mrs Euro came home from night shift and curtailed my hopes of a morning ride with TDS, not to mention the crappy weather. Princess awoke from her slumber after 1pm so I set out for a quick lap on a slushy & mushy FLT, showers the entire trip. Very few Sunday afternoon bunters out, but those on duty were definitely the dumb ones - you know the drill, kids, bikes & dogs all over the shop. Anyhow it was nice to stretch the legs before the entire weekend passed without a ride.

Wed, Jul 18, 2012 - 22.99 mi [Cycling]
22.99 mi on Giant OCR 2. [Cycling] Yet another cold start, the mornings are supposed to be getting lighter but somehow I doubt it. Met Elviner and set off for the usual Tuesday morning route. Very little to report.

Sun, Jul 15, 2012 - 29.83 mi [Cycling]
29.83 mi on Colnago CLX 3.0. [Cycling] The call for an afternoon run to Swansea was answered by myself, Lambo, Elviner, Pom, GD and Richard m.o.p (mate-of-pom). The southbound leg of the FLT was a veritable slalom course avoiding every Sunday afternoon bunter in the known universe. A steady pace was set from Belmont to Swansea & return. The northbound leg of the FLT was no better in terms of obstacles, my quest for R2W glory was derailed about 500m from the summit by a guy on a Penny-farthing. Easy ride from Whitebridge to Adamstown, I cracked off for home, the TDS lads took the stage win at the Nags.

22.99 mi on Colnago CLX 3.0. [Cycling] U10 rugby at Final Bay dictated a pre-dawn start to meet the Maitland gruppetto at Hexham, where I was greeted by Colnago grand master Dave. Only 37 km's covered for the morning but done at a very brisk pace, I managed to hang on all the way to Nobbys (first time for EB), although most of the top guns are away at present. Tue, Jul 10, 2012 - 23.61 mi [Cycling]
23.61 mi on Giant OCR 2. [Cycling] My training partner MG was unavailable for the usual Tuesday morning route, he’s spending time at the high performance unit for emerging new talent – he could be a white jersey contender. I rugged up and hit the FLT expecting a brisk morning, but was peeling the layers off before too long, very, mild conditions indeed. The FLT was teeming with cyclists this morning motivated by watching Le Tour, the mild weather or getting some KM’s under the belt before the next rain front hits us this week.
