44.04 mi in 02:30:00 hours at 17.61 mi/h on Catbike Musashi. [Cycling] Musashi#15-Muffin at Moriac General Store. Feeling really shitty full of cold/man-flu....but dragged myself out for a ride. The first hill 5 mins from home was terrible, heart racing and unsteady, not good....sooo thirsty.....once off the GOR and onto Forest Rd, things got better, was able to get into a steady groove and my speed increased nicely. The cafe was shut at Moriac General Store so I had the last chocolate muffin and plenty of water.After my quick pitstop and bottle top up, set off again.....feeling better.... Quite bad sidewind when heading East but not too bad....turning South onto Horseshoebend Rd the wind was now a headwind but there was someone to catch in the distance so just dug in.....met a guy who was commuting home from Newtown Geelong and he was struggling into the wind, so he followed me all the way home. Idiot in Honda CRV cut us badly at the roundabout (turning right) on the house estate near The Sands, need to check the video as he chopped in front of me and gave me no room, might send to the cops.....the hills back into Juc were the usual grind but a steady run considering the cold/man-flu.....still feel terrible but more dehydrated now :-( |

Not ridden for 4 weeks due to my back/left leg playing up and type 2 sprained left ankle last week but what the heck... Steve Nurse set up a team for the Lake Wendouree team endurance event.....part of the Ballarat Classic..... We had 10 recumbents in our team (3 of my bikes - JP on my Vortex, Pete on my Musashi, me in the Mango)... Bit windy, lots of random riding, lots of incompetent riding, lots of speed :-) Spotted 47.5 kph on the road but only 46.1 kpg logged ?? |

A very very easy roll around the crit track.....LHS leg still giving problems but a gentle roll around should hopefully do no damage......the acerage HR of 122bpm shows how easy I was going......the usual Crit Track headwind of 30 - 40 kph down the back straight.......still managed a respectable 26 kph average !! Used Shimano RS80 C60 fitted on the back......makes a cool noise ! |
