Ride Detail
Sun, Mar 25, 2012 - 85.91 mi [Cycling] Details
85.91 mi in 05:15:15 hours at 16.35 mi/h on ICE Vortex FS. [Cycling] Vortex#29-Phil Alderton Memorial Ride. This ride was organised in memory of Phil Alderton who passed away as a result of MND - originally it was an annual pub crawl ride which Phil started up - I set off from home so did more kays..... Only 4 of us set off at the start (some did the rail trail - 80km total distance) - good ride and not bad cruisy average of 26 kph... 3 beers in Queenscliff was probably too much but the 2 beers at Barwon Heads as nice :-) Rear mudguard fatigue failure mid way between Queenscliff and Ocean Grove - had to bodge it with tape on the roadside and then removed it at the next pub..... Aussie roads kills everything - the mudguard only lasted 3 months of Aussie coarse chip bitumen.... Home by 7pm - long day and a bit achy....

Tue, Apr 23, 2013 - 60.49 mi [Cycling] Details
60.49 mi in 04:05:00 hours at 14.81 mi/h on ICE Vortex FS. [Cycling] Vortex#68-B Heads loop twice with Adam&Joe Podcast - 30kph W'ly

Moody looking day, windy and overcast with scattered sunshine and showers......30kph W'ly wind which it felt like too !! Just cracking in a few kays so only stopped for water, had the iPod charged up and had 4 hours catching up on Adam&Joe podcasts.....laughed out loud quite a bit, oops ! On lap1 saw an Orange RotoVelo when I was leaving B Heads, he came my way but he didn't catch me going into a headwind ? On lap2 passed a Catrike on 13th Beach Road....he was going rather slowly so passed him going quite fast with a tailwind ! Face feels like it's coped a load of wind burn..... It was cold enough to need thermal undershirt and leggings, brrrr...... Also saw a coupe of Eafles out at Lake Connewarre....

55.62 mi in 03:34:00 hours at 15.59 mi/h on ICE Vortex FS. [Cycling] Vortex#67-Ride with JP, M&M & VeloRossi

Cruisy ride with the boys..... Good to see M&M out on his S-Works (it's been a while since we last rode together).....met JP at Annies and then had a long coffee stop as JP had brekky......and Georgie rode to meet Rossi..... JP & I decided to head towards Moriac to get a few more kays in, while M&M had to get home and Rossi rode back to Annies to ride home with Georgie..... Just nice with an average HR of 138bpm.....and a reasonable average speed of 25 kph with some hills..... The back feels good !!

Sat, Apr 20, 2013 - 37.02 mi [Cycling] Details
37.02 mi in 02:16:00 hours at 16.33 mi/h on Catbike Musashi. [Cycling] Musashi#20-Tailsock fitted-ride to B Heads-20kph E'ly

Nice ride into banging 20 kph Easterly headwind with VeloRossi - it's been a while since the Musashi has been for a ride, now it has a Windsock fitted on the back (needs tweaking) so a bit of a test run..... The ride into Torquay was fun as there is a cycling event on to Lorne so best to avoid the Esplanade......rode out on the highway for a bit and soon lost my Musashi nervousness and anxiety !! Met up with Rossi and we went to B Heads for coffee, banging into big head wind all the way, felt worse than 20 kph......the run back on B Heads Rd was nice, clicking along at 36 - 40 kph.....tailwind......and then hit 50 kph and cruised at 45 kph on Lake Rd...... Nothing fell off the Moose, need to extend the boom some, need to get a battery for the cadence sensor, need to move the coroplast bulkhead up 10cm......will ride again tomorrow after tweaking !

31.45 mi in 01:48:00 hours at 17.47 mi/h on Sinner Mango Sport Red Edition. [Cycling] Mango#22-quick ride to see VeloRossi in Geetown, traffic lights arrrggghhhhh !!!!!!

Thought I'd go and see Rossi and get a cuppa......damn traffic lights slowed me down on the way in/out of Belmont. Riding in the dusk/darkness for the first time in the Mango was fun.... Need to track down some funny noises, or could it just be the crappy Victorian roads ?
