24.85 mi on Norco Monterey. [Cycling] First road ride on my 1980 Norco in a long time. Only 6 gears (first of the 12 spds back then), but barely used any of them for fear of putting my fingers into the front wheel spokes while trying to shift. Think the computer needs calibrating. It also is from the 80's (have the original box), and I don't think I was running in the mid 30's to 40's...
Nice little ride out to the fort and back. More comfortable than I like to admit...... |

211.27 mi on Rocky Mountain Solo 10. [Cycling] Ride2Survive 2011. Hardest one so far, but worth it in every way. Had one minor fall in Merritt before even getting out of the rest stop. It was a wake up call for Cold Water road. Unfortunately, broke one of my computers. Good thing I had 2! Always amazed by the tireless efforts of the ride captains. Sadly not even that was enough, as my legs locked up just short of the Coquihalla summit. After sitting out the big downhill to Hope, I was rejuvenated and back on the road thanks to all of the volunteers! Thanks to all who were involved for another incredibly memorable event! |
