12.37 mi in 01:23:00 hours at 8.94 mi/h on KHS Team ST. [Cycling] SAMBR & the 1st official TDS C100 training ride. The XC bikes came out & we were the gun crew on a busy day in G-rock. Some gumby in a WAM kit insisted on cutting into our group at the start & was soon shown that TDS is not to be trifled with when we are serious. G-rock was in great form with super tacky trails & plenty of talent to spot. E.McN. was spotted a few times being trailed by a pack of blokes like she was a bitch on heat. Napalm, much to his detriment, discovered what we already knew; bald tyres roll fast but they have no grip. My new race tyres were both fast & grippy, allowing me to go round bends. Col got lost, Close to on time Ed & new dude John got smashed, Ellviner got better & the idea that the Ellsworth has to go. MP was usurped from the lead; his All Mtb not being able to keep up with the frenetic pace of the XC crew, & I was in the zone, if not on the pace due to some serious Mtb Ks being racked up over the weekend. A good fast ride & good beers at the pub with A1, Gus & Guru. |

15.53 mi on Titus Full Tilt Moto. [Cycling] Earlier than usual start with MP. Eventually joined by Col, new mate John &, appropriate for for day, a resurrected Ellviner. The usual circuit, interrupted by stoppages to help someone with a broken chain (no payment offered!) someone who was lost & a dude with a loose seat post. Beer time at the Nags with A1 & excellent service from our favorite bar maid (fetching turquoise blue nail polish) who hates the smell of farts & remembers what we drink. |

Napalm's B'day rides are gaining a reputation for being tough, bruising affairs with this year being no exception although nothing was broken. Napalm's usual preference of more riding, less talking wasn't happening with flats, stacks, missed trails & a lack of minerals. Joined at the pub by The DS, A1 & Ellviner. A great ride with bruising to prove it. |
