32.12 mi in 01:50:00 hours at 17.52 mi/h on Opera Leonardo. [Cycling] SMRR with Euro & Ellviner. As nice a day as can be expected for the middle of winter. Onset of a cold kept my speed down. |

53.00 mi in 02:58:00 hours at 17.87 mi/h on Opera Super Leonardo. [Cycling] Easter SMRR with Guru, Napalm, Toasted, Eurobunter, D (glad I'm not one) Kennedy, BMO & Melanie whom some regarded a challenger to a throne that I, being an avowed & ardent republican, don't recognise due to my belief that any head of state should be representative of the people's choice & elected by due democratic process, preferably, a candidate nominated & approved by an elected parliament... but I digress. Phoenix Sprint was just won by a recovered Napalm & the Brewery Sprint was shut down by Guru whose long years in the insurance industry has resulted in him being over cautious in his assessment of risk. Coffee at Raw (not roar) then onto the Velodrome where Nanny Guru once again advised caution which I threw to the wind for some hot laps & a top 10 Strava placing. (top 5 if you ignore the +100km/h efforts) With numbers dwindling due to domestic responsibilities, I was finally Mel & I left for a lap of Love. |

31.01 mi in 01:44:00 hours at 17.89 mi/h on Opera Leonardo. [Cycling] SMRR with Napalm, Ellviner, Guru & CTE. Bloody cool morning had me reaching for the arm warmers & base layers. Ellviner showed the difference a slick pair of legs can make by taking the Phoenix sprint. Napalm taking all the other contested points. Coffee at 2300. |

51.33 mi in 02:49:00 hours at 18.22 mi/h on Opera Super Leonardo. [Cycling] A great day for a SMRR with Eurobunter, Ellviner, Evimov & Guru. Eurobunter debuted the new Colnago but was unable to get any flat tyres. Caught the Hadley's ride at Lambton. Evimov attacked at Cemetry Hill, forcing the rest of us to attack the bunch & mow him down. As usual, I took the points for this climb, Telstra Hill, a hard fought Phoenix Sprint (good lead out by Eurobunter) & the Ocean Baths Sprint. Ellviner was showing top form by taking the Brewery Sprint & his challenge for the Ocean Baths was so spirited he vomited at 2300. Good coffee & the day was so good we still wanted to keep riding. Evimov headed for KE Park & the rest of us headed for the Love Track. Eurobunter turned off at Whitebridge & Guru kept going out to Swansea. We met up with Evimov again on the way back. A group of tri-hards was spotted on the R2W climb & Ellviner & I kicked out a high wattage to smash them. It was a bit scary overtaking them due to their atrocious bike handling skills. Smashed everyone else out & called it a day. A top day at that for a ride. |
