51.89 mi in 03:04:10 hours at 16.91 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Met with Ellviner, Euro and Guru (who was going mountain biking), 2 new bikes to look at and a Garmin...I had nothing of interest to show off. Trying to improve my Cemetery QOM time was stopped by glaring orange sun right in my eyes, couldn't see a bloody thing and had to lower my glasses, next time. Had a crack at 2KO climb where MG blasted past at the top, cruised up Telstra and then Ellviner lead myself and Euro out to better our Phoenix Sprint times, had nothing in the end but surprised to see I did in fact have a better time today...Thanks MG :) Good coffee at 2300, said our goodbyes and I headed for a lap of Love. Somebody waved at me as I was cruising up R2W, think it was GD. Home to eat and think about heading over to watch the Kermese, great ride. |

39.63 mi in 02:18:06 hours at 17.22 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Dry SMRR with Guru, Napalm and CTE. Headed off at a fast pace and soon after my legs reminding me that my last ride was Oz Day....felt it the whole ride but managed to hang in there. Guru and Napalm lead CTE up Cemetery KOM, Guru peeling off where I caught up and we lead the boys to Hexham then back to Telstra climb, had to save their legs for KOM and all the sprints to come. Got to Brewery Sprint where I tried to convince the boys that the sprint was called off today, Guru suggesting that I would sprint, the guns looked nervous, so I had no choice but to go for it, a bit to early for my liking and the wrong gear. Got a lead but then CTE passed with Napalm in hot pursuit and nearly not getting around me due to my speed, I let him through and he won the sprint. My first free coffee at 2300 :) Headed home, Guru and CTE leaving us and Napalm and myself cruised to Whitebridge and then home on the Love track. Very hard ride for me today but has started my pro riding career for the year. Great ride as always. |

40.26 mi in 02:22:01 hours at 17.01 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Headed out for SMRR and was so excited at the return of Ellviner that I forgot my glasses, a quick u-turn back to home and then I was off again. Met a nearly unrecognisable MG(beard :) Napalm, Lamb and BMO for our usual route. Legs felt the holiday break on the climbs but ok otherwise. MG rode like a pro that has never left the bike, well done. Enjoyed a coffee at 2300 where I got my first coffee card woohooooo!!!!! And listened to Lamb discussing buying a tablet to watch porn on. Great ride home, Lamb and MG departing at NJC, Naplam and myself cruising along FLT to Whitebridge, turned around then home. A humid but great ride on my baby and welcome back MG! |

33.73 mi in 01:57:34 hours at 17.21 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Left for Ev's Birthday SMRR with hills to look forward too. Got to stadium where Napalm got a text to say Ev had a broken spoke and wasn't joining us :( Napalm, Euro, Tony and Tony's friend Frank headed off for the normal SMRR route. Nice pace, smashed the Sandgate climb. Won the Phoenix sprint by pushing myself through a gap in the middle of the pack and second in Brewery Sprint to Napalm (was a last minute thought on my behalf that I would actually have a sprint...plus Euro encouraged me to "go get him" :) Great coffee at 2300 where Tony and Frank departed and headed home. Nice ride home, the boys drooling over 2 lesbians, talk of tattoo's in private body areas and weird objects stuck up unusual parts of the body. Left the boys on FLT and headed home where Euro was heading to Belmont and back. Fun ride to start the day. |

33.77 mi in 01:56:02 hours at 17.46 mi/h on Giant Avail Advanced 2. [Cycling] Saddled up for my first SMRR in 4-5 weeks and last for the year, with Napalm, Guru, Euro, Cadel and guest appearance from CTE. A good pace right from the start, with all of us taking turns the whole ride. Got to Sandgate Hill where Cadel lept in front and powered, feeling strong I kept and good distance with Napalm encouraging me to chase, rolled him at the top and my HRM was about to explode. Lead the boys to Hexham with Napalm into the head wind, turned to come home at Ozzie Mozzie when Cadel nearly took himself and Euro out at the lights, nobody came off which was lucky. Headed towards Industrial Dr where I managed to hold a nice pace up Telstra Hill for a change. Coming up to Phoenix Sprint I noticed the boys weren't going to go for it but I was on the inside so I just had to sit in....Cadel on my right moved out and made a dash for it so I decided to go with him, we flew past the pack heading for victory when Napalm noticed and jumped straight into sprint mode to take the points. I was flying and could hear the cheers from the boys as my little legs were pedalling as fast as they could. Headed to 2300 for a well deserved coffee. Headed home to enjoy a few hours to myself, left the boys on FLT who decided to head to Belmont. An awesome last fast pace SMRR for 2011 with a great group. Another 2 QOM's on Strava for me, Sandgate and Telstra Hill, yippeeee! |
