[Cycling] Wasatch Crest - Mid Mountain loop with Bill and Larry. I knew I wasn't quite in shape to attempt this thing just yet, but it was well worth it. The weather cooperated gorgeously, the trail was sick with the exception of the new MM re-route. Larry broke his cassette descending towards the Canyons and had to ride down the gondola to get it fixed, then Bill had two flats. I managed to avoid mechanicals, but started to feel extra shitty when we started the 5 mile climb back up Spiro and Comstock to the car. Also mis-judged where the trail hit Big Cottonwood Rd, and ended up riding back up Scott's Bypass. Really wasn't mentally prepared for the last climb, fell off the bike twice from stalling out, hit a branch and was generally hating life. All in all, a fantastic loop. Will definitely be doing this one again, hopefully without the mechanical issues. 2010-07-03 16:07:58 PDT
