49.80 mi in 02:49:34 hours at 17.62 mi/h on Cinelli Very Best Of. [Cycling] Endurance Spin Ride 2:45 with AW Winter Training Folks - I felt a need to be with my brothers and sisters of the wheel, after hearing of this gathering of the Alabama Wheelmen winter training group. We had 2-3 dozen people - didn't really count, but a big group. With the group and the wind, it was a bit difficult to do my zone 2 assignment, but I started hanging off the group and moving around it on my own to get it dialed in. I stayed mostly on target, ending up only slightly over the assigned training load for the day. Links:

47.30 mi in 02:47:40 hours at 16.93 mi/h on Cinelli Very Best Of. [Cycling] Endurance Spin 2 hr 45 min - There was 15+ mph wind that made it a bit more difficult to stay on a steady target power, but I was not too bad off. I rode into the wind for 25 miles and then had fun with the tail winds coming home - so tempting to kick it, but I maintained discipline. I mis-calculated the time/distance for this. It was supposed to be 2h30m, but ended up a bit longer. I just extended the cool down. I ran into Kyle Bentley in the Greenbrier are and talked with him a few minutes for peeling off his route.

40.60 mi in 02:30:29 hours at 16.19 mi/h on Cinelli Very Best Of. [Cycling] Endurance Spin 2.5 Hours - Zone 2 for 2.5 hours. I just tried to keep power in the 150-200 range. It was very foggy when I started. I rode to Clint's house first via Copeland Rd. There was a group meeting there to do the same sort of workout on a loop just north of his house. After a couple laps, I realized I was not going to be able to keep to my power target - too much vertical in that loop for what I was doing, so I left that to go out on my own. I just wandered around north and east of the house to get the time in. The same did eventually show up and it made a nice end to the ride. Links:

35.90 mi in 02:04:18 hours at 17.33 mi/h on Cinelli Very Best Of. [Cycling] Drop Intervals 2hr in West Park - Warm-up, then 1-min in the drops followed by 5 min on the hoods. After that, add another min in the drops followed by 5 min. Keep adding a minute until the last interval at 10 min in the drops. Then, cool down. I had no trouble completing this, but my left hand (the wrist I broke last year) got numb a bit on the last few intervals, but a quick release and shake took care of it. I had to stand a little late in the ride to let some blood back in the unda-zone. Interesting exercise. Links:

25.80 mi in 01:30:20 hours at 17.14 mi/h on Cinelli Very Best Of. [Cycling] Zone 2 Jetplex Ride with Nathan - Today, I start a plan to get me to a peak in May for a goal event. Today, a zone 2 ride. I really have to focus to go this easy, but I managed it OK. This was probably our last after-work ride outdoors for this year with the time changing this weekend. Links:
